Important Announcement about The 14 Concrete (but not so hard!) Steps to Private Practice! This book is no longer available for purchase.

Colleagues applaud a woman under a 'FAREWELL!' banner in a sunlit office.

I hope this announcement finds you thriving wherever you are in your professional practice.

I’ve arrived in your inbox after a long silence to let you know that The 14 Concrete (but not so hard!) Steps to Private Practice has been retired. It is no longer available for purchase.

This resource guide was the result of my desire to help others succeed in private practice. It was my way of cataloging the large volume of information I learned along the way. A few months into my new practice in 2015, a colleague asked, “Bonnie, how did you do that?”

Over the following eight years, my scratch notes for her became the comprehensive guide that’s been on Amazon since early 2023. Somewhat ironically, the guide was published a few months after closing my practice to take care of my dad, who had Alzheimer’s Disease, and to manage our other family business.

I am beyond grateful for the experiences that led to publishing and the opportunities to share this comprehensive resource guide with so many practitioners. The response was overwhelmingly positive and far exceeded my hopes for reaching therapists across the nation.

Private practice was the last career move on my social work bucket list. Writing a book about the process was an unexpected and seriously satisfying endeavor.

However, it wasn’t easy.

As you know, things are always changing. While the steps for starting private practice remain the same, the nuts and bolts of regulations, standards of practice, and resources can change at a mind-spinning pace. While the guide is still a rock-solid investment, keeping it 100% updated would require input I’m not able to give at this time.

Due to other responsibilities and ultimately the desire to fulfill other dreams, I’ve made the hard decision to retire the guide.

Ya never know where life is going to take you or what opportunities are going to arise along the way. As always, I can’t resist the pull of new adventures!

Thank you for all your support along the way! Without your encouragement, I never would have accomplished such a monumental task as writing a book.

I wish you all the best in your endeavors wherever life takes you.
